My latest song clocks in at a blazing 161 bpm and is certainly not my typical style. The music genre is known as "Happy Hardcore" (160-180 bpm) which is popular in the U.K. and Europe, having evolved from similar music genres such as Gabber (Dutch), Eurodance, Hardcore Breakbeat, Trance, Bouncy Techno, Rave, etc. I was introduced to the genre online and was hooked by it being so different from Rock and Alternative. The song's title references my new genre I am calling "Rockcore" – a blend of Rock and Happy Hardcore dance music genres.

I write, record, engineer, master and produce all my own music here in Minneapolis, MN. I began playing acoustic guitar in the early 70's, then switched to electric when I bought a Fender Stratocaster. In the early 80's, I began to incorporate a stack of keyboards, percussion, and effects in my home studio (left), based on MIDI or Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Those early recordings aired on public radio in 1991 on KFAI in Minneapolis, with one song airing nationally. That music was finally released in 2003 as "Dreaming With Open Eyes".
Dreaming with Open Eyes
"Dreaming With Open Eyes" represents my prior analog recordings that were made with Cubase, a large rack of MIDI hardware and keyboards, plus live guitar recording. I finally made the switch from hardware to software synthesis in 2003 when I purchased Reason from Propellerhead Software. The album is available oniTunes Music Store, CD Baby, Amazon, LaLa, PayPal and more.
The Magic of Hyacinth
My new EP album "The Magic of Hyacinth" was released February 2007. This EP features brand new music created with my virtual digital studio software. The album is available for download on iTunes Music Store, SoundClick, Amazon,LaLa, PayPal, eMusic, Rhapsody, MusicNet and Napster and more.
"Dance Rockcore" (Single) was released April, 2010.
This 160 bpm dance genre is not my typical style, but I do like to explore and create new possibilities, thus the reference to my new genre I call "rockcore" or a blend of rock and hardcore dance music styles.
If you purchase my music by contacting me directly, I will give you either the CD-quality AIFF files or 256 kbps "iTunes Plus" format for download from this site!
